Role In Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)

Bandaru Dattatreya started his career with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). He was a Pracharak.

Shri Bandru Dattatreya garu always had deep fascination towards social work right from school days he was helping junior school children for there studies from class 8th. At the age of 14 he started reading books on Indian history and he was greatly inspired by Prithviraj Chauhan, Bhagat Singh, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee
His role in Rss was strengthening and expanding the activities in the existing shakhas and, also, opening new ones. It also necessitated constant travelling. Many places were accessible by bus, although the roads then were a far cry from what they are now. However, there were other places to where the only mode of transport was either a bicycle or by long walks.

19th November 1977, Diviseema Cyclone: Biggest cyclone in history of Andhra Pradesh still date . Shri Dattatreya was just release from Chanchalguda Jail after Emergency it was in the year 1975-1977. Soon RSS pitched in to help the needy and Sri Dattatreya was suggested to work in diviseema. With a large group of RSS Volunteers the team marched towards diviseema. The dead bodies of Human and cattle were seen all over the village and people were starving for food and water. The Volunteers worked worked night and day some times even without food and sleep to help the need.

After 2 year there was total turn around in the village. School and hospital and houses were constructed for the poor. The village was named after Sri Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya and it was called as Deendayalpuram. Sri Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji and Sri Advaniji Visit the village. Sri Vajpayeeji was so much impressed with the work. Later at a public gathering Sri Vajpayee invited Sri Dattatreya to join BJP.
